A Review of Global Markets in 2019

COINBASE:BTCUSD   Bitcoin
What did global markets do in 2019? How did Bitcoin move compared to the S&P 500? Or even gold? We created this chart to show you.

This chart shows the year-to-date (YTD) performance for some of the biggest asset classes and indexes: Bitcoin, S&P 500, Nikkei 225, Crude oil, Gold, Volatility, Dollar Currency Index, Euro Currency Index, Dax, FTSE, and 10-Year Treasuries.

Charts like this can quickly show you what asset classes performed best around the world and what the biggest indexes, cryptocurrencies or commodities are doing at any given moment.

Creating a chart with this many lines can be confusing to new traders or investors. So here are three tips for those who are new to markets:

1. Show the labels of each asset on the chart. Go to your chart Settings, press Scales, and check the box that says Symbol Name Label. This will show the symbol name for each asset on the chart.
2. Use the chart legend in the top left region of your chart to quickly hide or edit specific lines. Hover over the legend and press the Hide button on an asset to briefly hide it. With less lines, you can focus on the ones you want.
3. Control your line colors and thickness by going to Settings, pressing Symbol, and then adjusting the color, size, and style of each line. This can make certain lines stand out above the rest for added focus.
